Treatment

Lyme disease is a contagious disease that affects many organs in the body, caused by spirochaete known as Borreliaburgdorferi. The bacteria are transmitted to the human body by an infected tick. The ideal shelter for a tick is certain types of rodents and rodents. The disease spreads in forest areas in the United States, in Europe and Asia. Infections are mainly caused by the end of the spring and the summer months.

Lyme disease appears after a incubation period of three days and one month. Lyme disease is limited to the first stage of the skin, generally in the location of the pinch, and is characterized by a typical skin rash called Erythema migrans. The typical injury begins as a red dot expands, while the color gradually blinks in the center of the injury, forming a typical loop image. Pollution spreads, in the next stage, and within days to weeks, through the blood organ reaches many members.

Skin lesions develop like primary rash, fever, chills, weakness, head pain, and mobile pain in the joints and muscles. Lyme disease affects few patients at this stage of the heart, leading to electroencephalopathy, and inflammation of the heart muscle. In isolated cases, nerve injuries may also occur, with meningitis, which appears as severe head pain, neck stiffness, or cranial nerves, especially facial nerve paralysis.

Lyme disease symptoms, other than weakness, are not constant and may gradually disappear within a few weeks without treatment.

If the infection is not treated, a delayed disease may occur several months later, usually resistant to treatment, due to irreparable damage to the tissue. The late disease is characterized by seizures of large arthritis, especially in the knees. These seizures last weeks to months.

The central nervous system is damaged in a small number of patients. This damage is caused by a concentration and memory disorder. Peripheral nerves may develop sensory disturbances and weaken the muscles of the hands and feet.

Lyme Disease Diagnosis

Lyme disease is diagnosed primarily by identifying typical clinical symptoms. The diagnosis is confirmed after antimicrobial therapy is performed in the patient's blood.

Lyme Disease Treatment

Lyme disease is treated with appropriate antibiotics and for 10-21 days. Response to treatment in early stages of the disease is very good. Preventive treatment includes appropriate clothing, insect repellent, finding and removing ticks on the skin, and vaccination of populations in the affected area.
